Welcome to HookMux. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the HookMux website and webhook routing services (collectively, the "Service"), provided by HookMux ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

HookMux provides a cloud-based platform that acts as a webhook gateway. The Service allows you to receive incoming webhooks at a single "Source" URL and "fan-out" or route them to one or more "Destination" endpoints that you configure. The Service includes features for logging, retrying, and managing these webhook deliveries as defined by your chosen subscription plan.

2. User Accounts

• Registration: You must create an account to use the Service. You can register using an email and password or through a supported third-party OAuth provider (e.g., Google). You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration.
• Account Security: You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials (password, OAuth access) and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• Account Closure: You may terminate your account at any time through the "Settings" page in your account dashboard.

3. Subscriptions & Billing

A. Plans

Our Service is offered under various subscription plans, including a "Free" plan and several paid plans ("Dev," "Team," "Growth," "Unlimited"), as detailed on our website's pricing page.

Each plan includes specific limits on usage, which may include (but are not limited to):

• The number of events processed per month.
• The number of "Sources" you can create.
• The number of "Destinations" allowed per Source.
• The data retention period for your activity logs (e.g., "5-day Activity Log Retention").
• Access to advanced features like Manual Replay, Custom Auth Headers, and Rate Limiting.

B. Billing & Payments

• Payment Processor: All payments are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not store or have access to your full credit card details.
• Billing Cycle: Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or yearly basis.
• Upgrades: If you upgrade your plan, you will be billed immediately for the new plan, with full payment charged. Your new plan limits and features will apply immediately.
• Cancellations: You may cancel your paid subscription at any time. You can do this by downgrading to the "Free" plan through your "Billing" settings. Your cancellation will take effect immediately, and you will not be charged again.

C. Plan Limit Enforcement & Downgrades

You acknowledge and agree to the following logic regarding plan limits:

• Exceeding Limits: We reserve the right to enforce the limits of your chosen plan. This may include rejecting new events if you exceed your monthly event limit.
• Downgrades: If you downgrade your plan (including canceling a paid plan, which reverts you to the "Free" plan), your account's limits will be adjusted to the new, lower plan.
• Resource Deactivation: If your existing number of Sources or Destinations exceeds the limits of your new, lower plan, we will automatically deactivate the excess resources. Deactivation is performed on the newest created resources first, ensuring your oldest, foundational routes remain active. Deactivated resources are not deleted but will stop processing webhooks until you upgrade to a plan that supports them.

4. User Responsibilities & Acceptable Use

You agree that you will not use the Service to:

• Transmit any data that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.
• Send spam or unsolicited messages.
• Attempt to breach or bypass any security or rate-limiting measures.
• Use the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our servers or networks.
• Transmit any data that infringes on the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.

You are solely responsible for the data you transmit through the Service and for securing the destinations you configure.

5. Data & Privacy

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which details how we collect, use, and protect your information.

• Your Data: You retain all ownership rights to the data you send through HookMux. We only use your data to provide the Service to you.
• Log Retention: We retain your webhook activity logs (payloads and job results) according to the data retention policy of your subscription plan (e.g., 14 days for the "Team" plan). Data older than this limit is permanently and irreversibly deleted. Data on the "Free" plan is retained, but will not be available to the user of this plan.

6. Service Availability & Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, HookMux shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service.

7. Termination

• By You: You can terminate this agreement at any time by deleting your account from the "Settings" page.
• By Us: We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause or notice, for any reason, including, but not limited to, a breach of these Terms or non-payment of fees.

8. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
